Christams Mini Sessions prep guide
Do you need help planning and preparing for your Christmas Mini Session? This guide will tell you all you need to know. Dive in and prepare for a successful experience.
General info
Sessions are 30 minutes long. It is more than enough time to create a mini gallery of images as long as you are well prepared.
First and foremost make sure that you are on time.
These sessions are time sensitive and scheduled back to back which means that I will have other families coming just before your shoot and straight after.
It means that if you are late, you will have less time with me to create those beautiful seasonal memories.
For the same reason these sessions are planned for immediate family only (parents + children).
Do’s and dont’s of a successful shoot
How to make the most of your shoot.
– do not schedule the session around a nap time
– come dressed and ready to shoot
– please make every effort to make the day fun for your children from the moment they wake up. A positive and happy atmosphere not only helps me to capture some lovely happy memories but also makes this a great experience for all of you rather than a stressful one.
– avoid bringing toys for your little ones, they will want to keep them instead of the props in the photos
– please make sure your children have a snack before the session, you will not appreciate crumbs all over their faces in your beautiful images
– practice making them giggle and laugh, find a game or pull faces to see what works for them
Styling, so what to wear ?
You probably wonder what to wear for your session. Here are some tips to help you with that question.
– if you know my style you probably also know that I like style simplicity
– make sure you are all colour coordinated and I don’t mean you all have to wear exactly the same colour outfits, but rather a similar style. A combination of gold, cream, blush pink, beige and other pastels will be perfect.
– the best colours to look beautiful on both of my Christmas backdrops are cream, beige, and all other neutrals, this year a little sparkle will also look fab.
– jumpers are always great as long as they are plain and not too colourful. As much as colourful Christmas jumpers can be super cute, in the photos they will take all of the attention off the most important aspect of this session YOU!
– don’t worry about the footwear. This year both of my set-ups are indoor scenes.
– if you have matching pyjamas in cream or white bring them in! With pyjamas a bit of pattern won’t be a problem 🙂
Where will my session take place?
Very good question!
Your session will take place in Anya Photography’s home studio located in Haywood Village, Weston-Super-Mare.
